If you use Firefox, and if you’re a Facebook junkie like me, you’ll love the Facebook Toolbar for Firefox.
Now you can see when you’re poked, you have friend requests or new messages without hitting Ctrl+T F-down-enter (almost a reflex for me!).

It also gives you a MSN Messenger like popup when someone sends you a message (you can also set it to notify you when a friend changes status, writes a new note, etc).
I have since disabled Facebook for Firefox. It was cannibalizing my productivity!!
